Deep Blue Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Classes

At Deep Blue, we believe Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is for everyone.  In an effort to meet everyone's needs we offer different classes for different skill levels, with long term plans for more.  Below is a description of each class and who the intended student audience is for.  "KJJ" are our Kids Jiu Jitsu classes.  Our kids programs get more advanced with age, but each class is still structured to welcome everyone to the mats.  Our adult BJJ class names are modeled after an academic curriculum.  New students can start in BJJ 101, and have a clear path forward as they become more comfortable in their training.  A simple guide to our class audience:

100 level: Beginner level classes open to all.  There will be no live sparring in these classes.

200 level: Our core training curriculum, open to all adult students. There will be live sparring in these classes.

300 level: Coming soon. These will be our competition focused classes, and will be for 2 striped white belts and above only.

400 level: Coming soon.  These will be our advanced classes, and will be for blue belts and above only. Please speak to the coaches before you begin attending the 400 level classes.

Please feel free to reach out with any questions.

KJJ: 3-5yrs

Our KJJ:3-5yrs program is designed to make your children love the mats.  Your kids will learn all the fundamental positions and movements of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, while having lots of fun.  We disguise our lesson plans in fun games and activities, so your kids will intuitively learn the skills required to be successful Jiu Jitsu artists!

KJJ: 6-8yrs

Our KJJ:6-8yrs program introduces your child to submissions, live sparring, and a more developed understanding of each Jiu Jitsu position.  This is the age kids begin developing an interest in competing, so we start to ramp up the competition focus.

KJJ: 9-13yrs

Our KJJ: 9-13yrs program is a comprehensive Jiu Jitsu curriculum, where we leave it all on the mats. This is where our foundational movements and positions are transformed into a precise martial art.  We still manage to have a lot of fun!

BJJ 101

BJJ 101 is a 12 week curriculum designed to introduce new students to all the major positions and techniques of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.  You can start anytime during this 12 weeks, and go through the program as many times as you want! BJJ 101 is open to all adult students.

BJJ 150

Coming soon. Hoping to launch 150 by the end of the year. BJJ 150 is a workshops class, rotating through the key topics, 2-3 weeks at a time, that new students have trouble with.  This class will go into more detail than our BJJ 101 class, and introduce you to a higher level of Jiu Jitsu understanding.

BJJ 201

BJJ 201 is the core curriculum for our adults program.  We used a position based approach, starting with the most basic attacks and movements of a position, and develop a strong game as we move into more advanced techniques and transitions.  This class is in the gi, and is open to all adult students.

BJJ 250

BJJ 250 is our no-gi class.  We follow a separate curriculum track as BJJ 201, and focus on more no-gi appropriate techniques and strategies.  We recommend newer students focus on gi training, but BJJ 250 is open to all adult students.
